Introduction to Origami is a fun and exciting class where children will learn the Japanese art of Origami along with a different aspect of Japanese culture each week. Every student will receive an origami instruction sheet on what was covered that day and take home what they make. Students will make an origami box, samurai helmet, ninja star, and several animals such as dogs, cats, cranes and more. They will start with easy creations and get more and more complex. We encourage learning through play and challenges using the origami they make and origami related prizes will be awarded each week.

Specific questions should be directed to the Academic Origami at (949) 348-2892.

Academic Chess teaches students the game of chess through a unique story based curriculum! A chess lesson consists of 30 dynamic minutes taught by an Academic Chess instructor. Lessons are aided by a 2-dimensional demonstration board. This Lesson is highly interactive and exciting for the kids. The exact method of relating chess concepts to the students depends upon the grade level being taught. Lessons are followed by 30 minutes of playtime on tournament sets that Academic Chess provides. The instructors supervise, coach, and play against the students.  Oftentimes the instructors can play many games at once. A chess tournament is held at the end of each session in which we give out prizes to all students, trophies to the top players, and a sportsmanship medal. Students learn how to play chess through our unique & fun curriculum of fun lessons, stories and rhymes!
